Manufactured between 1914 and 1918. This highly embellished pistol features a combination of gold plating and gold wire inlay with an under layer of blue for contrast. Featuring a highly detailed floral motif with geometric accents. The barrel, slide and frame feature grotesque style dragons or chimera figures. The end of the muzzle is also finished in gold. The left side of the slide is marked "AVION" a trade name used by Azpiri y Cia one of the many cottage gunsmiths during the Eibar pistol boom. Fixed blade front and notch sights, smooth grips and magazine latch on the butt. The magazine is gold plated to match.

Excellent with 98% plus original gold finish remaining, cycling marks, spotting around the grip panels, areas of high point and edge wear and general handling marks. The grips are also very fine with general handling type marks. Mechanically excellent.
