Collector's Lot of Two Consecutively Numbered Royal Northwest Mounted Police Marked Colt Double Action Revolvers

A) Royal Northwest Mounted Police Marked Colt New Service Double Action Revolver

This consecutively numbered pair of revolvers are both marked with "RNWMP" on the back straps followed by property numbers "1963" on gun "A" and "1906" on gun "B". The Royal Northwest Mounted Police was a direct precursor to the current Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Formed in 1873 to patrol the newly acquired Northwest Territories and active until their merger with the Canadian Dominion Police in 1920. These revolvers were manufactured in 1918 with standard markings and features. The grips are checkered hard rubber with "COLT" molded at the top. Both are fitted with lanyard loops.

ConditionVery fine with 80% plus of the original blue finish remaining, showing areas of mild high point and edge wear, surface scratches, general handling marks and a small drag line on the cylinder. The grips are fine with general handling type marks and a few small chips. Mechanically excellent.
