Description:

The NRA Musket Model 1906 variation of the Model 1895 was manufactured in 1917. These N.R.A. muskets were made to comply with the specifications of the National Rifle Association of America's "any military arm" matches with special 24 inch barrels, Krag style rear sights, and special flat buttplates. This example has a pinned blade front sight, folding ladder rear sight graduated to 1,800 yards, and is mounted with a long forearm with grasping grooves, handguard, and straight grip buttstock with the NRA style buttplate. The bayonet lug has been carefully removed from the front barrel band. It is marked with the "WP" proof over ".30/GOV./'06." on the receiver at the breech, the three line model and trademark information on the upper tang, the two line address and patent marking on the left side of the receiver, and the serial number and "B" on the lower tang.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 90% plus of the original blue finish remains on the barrel, and the remaining components retain 30% of original blue mixed with mottled gray and brown patina. The wood is also fine with some minor scratches and a few small chips. The action functions fine and the markings are distinct.
