Manufactured in 1887. The top barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two-line address/King's Improvement patent dates and "44 CAL" at the breech. The bottom of the cartridge elevator is marked "44 CAL" and the serial number is on the lower tang behind the lever latch. Dovetailed blade front and adjustable rear buck horn sights. The barrel, full length magazine tube and forend cap are blue, the receiver is brass and the hammer, lever and buttplate are casehardened. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and nicely figured straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. This Model 66 is consecutively serial numbered to the next lot.

Very fine as professionally restored to near new. 98% plus of the blue finish and rich case colors remain. The frame has a lightly aged patina. There are some overall light handling/storage type marks. There is a small sliver of material absent on the stock at the lower tang. The action functions fine. The markings are mostly crisp. Writer can not even imagine how the rare the odds are of two Model 66 rifles being consecutively serial numbered in the same auction.
