Manufactured in 1888. Third Model with the distinctive dust cover rail integrally machined as part of the receiver and the later dust cover with the serrations on the rear edges. Dovetailed blade front sight and a six leaf and one ladder express rear sight. The leafs are marked "1" thru "6" and the ladder is graduated to 1,000 yards. The top barrel flat is ahead of the rear sight and is marked with the two-line address/King's patent dates, "45-75 W.C.F." on the left upper flat at the breech, the bottom of the brass elevator is marked "45-75", the upper tang is marked "{MODEL 1876} and the serial number is on the lower tang behind the lever catch. All blue finish with casehardened lever, buttplate and hammer, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with an iron forend cap and crescent buttplate with cleaning rod compartment. (cleaning rod not included).

Rating Definition:

Very good as custom refinished with 98% blue finish on the barrel and receiver. The magazine tube has a mottled brown patina with a small amount of minor oxidation. Most of the vivid case colors remain on the hammer and lever with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The buttplate is a mix of faded case colors and smooth gray patina. The wood shows signs of light sanding. The stock is a bit ill-fitting at the wrist and overall there are some scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is very good.
