The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address ahead of the rear sight and there is no caliber marking at the breech (the barrel gauges at 45 caliber). The upper tang is marked "-MODEL 1886-" and the lower tang is marked with the two patent dates directly behind the trigger and the serial number on the end. Blade front sight and folding ladder rear sight with graduations to 900 yards. Saddle ring and stud mounted on the left side of the receiver, all blue finish and mounted with a smooth walnut musket style forearm and straight grip stock with an iron carbine buttplate.
