Description:

Manufactured in 1900, this carbine is chambered in the desirable 50 Express caliber. The top of the barrel ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two-line address and "50 EX" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "-MODEL 1886-", and the lower tang is marked with the two-line patent dates and serial number. Blade front and two folding leaf rear sights, two barrel bands, saddle ring and stud on the left side of the receiver and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel carbine buttplate. Winchester discontinued the casehardened receiver on the Model 1886 in 1901. no factory letter is available to writer so we cannot guarantee it will letter, but appears correct.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel and magazine tube have a smooth brown patina. The receiver has a smooth mottled gray patina, the lever has a smooth mottled brown patina, and the buttplate has a smooth dark mottled patina. The wood is very good with a few scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is very good. A nice example of a Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in the very desirable 50 Express caliber.
