Isaac Riviere was active from 1818 to 1851and was also a member of the Honorable Artillery Company in 1821, became a sergeant in 1829, a lieutenant 1829-1833, and captain of the Jager Corps 1833-1848. He organized a rifle range at Wormwood Scrubs and leased it to the H.A.C. and the Royal Victoria Rifles and was also corps treasurer of the latter. The label on the inside of the lid (upside down) notes that Riviere sold fowling pieces, rifles, dueling pistols, air guns (still very rare and expensive at the time), and "gunpowder of superior quality". The lock plates of both guns are marked "RIVIERE". The Damascus barrels are marked "- ->->RIVIERE LONDON <-<- -". They have small blade and notch sights, banded breech plugs, English floral scroll engraving, "waterproof" flash pans, "GD" marked thumb pieces, spur extensions on the trigger guards, wooden ramrods with horn and German silver tips, and walnut half stocks with checkered grips. The pair comes in an English fitted case with a vent pick, powder flask, bullet mold, and bore rod.
