This Third Model 1873 was manufactured in 1903 and has the military "musket" style long forearm secured by three bands, 27 inch long magazine tube, straight grip buttstock with carbine style buttplate with a cleaning rod in the trapdoor compartment. Military style blade and folding ladder sights, and the standard Winchester markings.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as partially refinished (cold blue present on right forward receiver). The balance of rifle retains 85% of the original blue finish remains with a brown patina and patches of mild pitting. The hammer and lever retain strong case colors under an oiled brown patina. The wood is also very fine with limited minor scratches and small pressure marks and some chipping on the bottom of the butt behind the sling swivel. The action is excellent and the markings are very crisp.
