Manufactured in 1965, with a proper arrangement of early AR-15/M16 features. 3-prong flash hider and a bayonet lug on the "12" marked barrel, with an elevation adjustable post front sight on the gas port assembly and a 2-leaf windage adjustable rear sight. The AR-15 nomenclature and Rampant Colt logo are present on the lower receiver, and the upper receiver is properly without a casing deflector or forward assist. Fitted with a vented triangular handguard, checkered pistol grip, black canvas sling and a fixed buttstock with a rubber buttplate and no storage compartment.

Excellent, with 95% of the matte black finish, showing some light handling marks overall. A few scuffs are present on the grip. Mechanically excellent. A top example of Colt's early AR-15 rifle production, and an important piece for any collection of American semi-automatic rifles.
