Description:

This is one of the early Wildey pistols manufactured circa 1982. It has the early production presentation grade engraving consisting of scrollwork, a bald eagle and American flag motif with "COMMEMORATING 1ST GAS PISTOL" in a banner, the Liberty Bell, and the three-line address and patent date marking. It has blade and adjustable target notch sights. The nicely figured grips are checkered. The pistol comes in the original presentation case with a display stand, bore rod, second magazine, keys, and plaque inscribed to the original owner. Also included is the original shipping box numbered to the gun and an extensive document file that included letters between the original owner and the factory which expose some of the difficulties Wildey J. Moore had with the initial company and the process by which they solicited sales of these presentation models. The gas system is adjustable to allow use of different pressure ammunition, and the overall design was purpose built for hunting. These pistols gained fame when used by Charles Bronson in Death Wish 3. Bronson is seen drawing the gun out of the same style of case seen here.

Rating Definition:

Near new with light handling and storage marks. The case and box are both excellent.
