This Model 99 was manufactured in 1928. Factory records (copy not included) indicate that it was shipped September 24,1929, to Abercrombie and Fitch in New York, and was subsequently returned to the factory for service (not stated what work was performed and re-shipped February 10, 1932. It has a beaded blade front sight on a serrated ramp, two leaf rear sight, and receiver mounted Lyman peep sight. The receiver and breech have factory floral scroll engraving. It is mounted with a checkered Schnabel tip forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and serrated steel buttplate. The buttplate has the Savage logo near the toe.

Excellent. 95% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish remains with some minor discoloration on the barrel. The lever has strong case colors and some splashes of varnish. The stock is very fine with an attractive stripe figure on the butt, sharp checkering and mostly glossy surfaces with some slight scuff marks mostly on the buttstock belly. The action and markings are excellent.
