Manufactured on the same Krieghoff production line as the Luftwaffe contract P.08's sidearm, the Commercial Krieghoff is virtually identical to the military version aside from the proof markings. While many Commercial Krieghoffs were pistols that were rejected by military inspectors (mostly due to headspacing issues, a chronic issue with the Luger design), a number were simply pulled off the line without being dismissed by the Luftwaffe, having already passed a number of checks by the inspectors but not receiving the final approval/rejection. This pistol, devoid of any rejection marks, is one of the latter, and is every bit the high quality pistol that one would expect from Krieghoff. Due to both the demands of the war and the limited nature of the Nazi private arms sales, production numbers are limited for the Commercial Krieghoff, with only 200 estimated as being part of the "Late Series I" grouping. Fixed sights, with a "vertical" set of "eagle/N" commercial proofs on the frame, receiver and breechblock, with the "C-3" pattern Krieghoff logo on the front toggle link. Small Luftwaffe proofs can be seen on the underside of the barrel, inside the mainspring coupling, and on other small parts, with matching full and partial numbers on the extension, frame, side plate, toggle links and breechblock. The Luger is fitted out with a "GELADEN" extractor and "GESICHERT" marked upper safety position, straw finished small parts, niter blue pins and springs, a pair of unmarked checkered brown grips and a nickel finished magazine with a "1103" marked alloy base.

Excellent, with 90% plus original blue finish, showing some bright edge wear and light handling marks. Over 70% of the bright original straw colors are present on the small parts, with a bright appearance to the remainder, and strong niter blue is present on the sear spring, with the other components showing darker color and areas of gray steel. The grips are very good, with a few light scuffs, and the magazine shows some dents on the base and body. Mechanically excellent.
