Description:

Measuring 37 inches overall, with a 26 inch blade showing a straight hamon and a silver finished brass habaki. The hilt is regulation pattern, with nickel finished menuki, and the brown painted saya is fitted with a brown and red tassel. Both sides of the tang are signed, five symbols on the right, eight on the right and four small stamps on the spine, with no visible post-1936 "non-traditional" stamps, suggesting an older blade re-mounted in shin-gunto pattern furniture for military use.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blade shows some light spotting and handling marks, and the hamon remains well defined and strong. The fittings are in good order, with a few stains on the wrap and some flaking and spotting on the saya.
