This is an example of an earlier production Model 1896 sniper rifle as manufactured by the Carl Gustav factory that was fitted with a short rail type M/42 scope. The top of the receiver is marked with a large "Crown C/CARL GUSTAFS STADS/GEVARSFAKTORI/1899". The crown proofs are visible on most parts. The rifle is equipped with a fixed blade front sight and adjustable rear tangent style sight graduated from 3 to 6. The scope is mounted on a short rail system on the left receiver wall and the scope is a 42 AGA 3x65 variation with leather lens caps. It has the full length military stock and short handguard with the brass Torped Overslag Str. Disk on the right side (missing screw), and crown proofs on the wrist. Includes a slotted cleaning rod and leather sling.

Very fine. 95% of the original blue finish remains with light handling marks, some non matching numbers on parts, and well struck proofs. The arsenal refurbished wood is fine with small handling marks, and nice color. Mechanically excellent. The optics are functional though hazy.
