This is a pre-war German Mauser Luger dated 1938. This was the standard WWII German Luger issued to all military forces. The chamber is dated "1938," and the front toggle has the secret wartime code of "S/42" for the Mauser factory. The barrel extension has the standard "eagle/63" acceptance proofs along with a droop wing eagle firing proof which is also on the right side of the barrel. It is correctly marked on the upper safety area and extractor "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. Visible numbers match. It has checkered walnut grips. It is complete with a single blue finished magazine with an aluminum base numbered to the gun and an "eagle/63" proof. The Gebruder Klinge of Dresden holster is dated 1937 and has an "eagle/WaA142" proof and combination tool.

Very fine. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish on the toggle assembly with some loss at the muzzle and some thinning to a brown on the toggles. The frame retains 98% of the professionally restore finish. The grips are excellent with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with some age cracking on the flap and some minor handling marks. The stitching is tight.
