Two Nazi Heer M43 Enlisted Field Caps

Both are feldgrau wool construction, with a set of functional 2-button ear flaps, one-piece trapezoidal eagle/cockade patches and tan rayon inner lining. 1) Christian Haug production cap, dated "1943" with a "56" size marking and black ink makers mark and address on the lining. 2) Unmarked cap, with a tin "Greif" pin on the left side of the earflaps. The significance of the Greif (gryphon) pin is unknown, though several areas in Germany use a gryphon in their coats of arms, and it would lend it's name SS-Colonel Otto Skorzeney's deception operation during the Battle of the Bulge.

ConditionBoth are good as "salty"/field used, with mild staining and wear appropriate to age and use, and cap #2 shows some moth activity on the rear.
