Manufactured in 1882. This Third Model 1873 Winchester Rifle features the machined dust cover guide as part of the receiver. The rifle has a blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight and full length magazine. The barrel has the two line address/patent marking and the upper tang is marked "MODEL 1873". Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a special order factory shotgun buttplate (steel), a feature that is rare to find on the collector market.

Very good. The rifle has a mottled gray patina with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas. The refinished wood is also very good with a sliver of wood missing on the wrist and some very scattered mild handling marks. Mechanically fine.
