The included Cody Firearms Museum Records Office serial number verification form confirms the rifle configuration, round barrel, caliber and plain trigger guard. The rifle was dated in on December 26, 1895 and shipped on August 11, 1896. Equipped with blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and "38-55." Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Fine. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a mottled brown patina. 30% of the original case colors remain on the hammer and lever. The loading gate retains 40% original nitre blue. The wood is very good with a few very scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
