Description:

This pistol was designed by Frenchman Jacques Rouchouse in the 1880s. It is marked "LE MERVEILLEUX" ("The Wonderful") on the top of the barrel and "292," "PL/BREVETE", and "JR & CIE" on the bottom of the action. It also has some floral engraving patterns, checkering on the trigger mechanism, some Liege proofmarks, and checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The original blue finish on the barrel is fading to a plum brown patina, and the action retains 60% of the original plating and has a gray patina and light pitting on the left side. The grip panels are fine with some chipping near the heel on the left and crisp checkering throughout. The action is fine, and the markings and engraving patterns are mostly crisp.
