Description:

This exceptional little .25 ACP (6.36 mm) revolver was designed by Dieudonne D. Oury and has "COGSWELL & HARRISON LTD/26 AVENUE DEL OPERA/PARIS/IMPORTE BELGIQUE" marked on the left side and bottom of the barrel. Cogswell & Harrison are among the oldest surviving names in English gunmaking and have been active since the 1770s. The revolver has various Liege proofmarks throughout, and "D. D. OURY/BTE" is marked on the left side of the frame. The revolver has a small dovetailed blade front sight, integral notch rear sight on the recoil shield, a metal folding grip marked "NOVO" with floral scroll designs, and a folding trigger. These revolver were meant to be concealed in vest, pant, or purse pockets. Folded it is only 3 3/4 inches long, 1 inch wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 97% plus of the original nickel plating remains. The front sight even retains niter blue finish. The action functions excellently, and the markings are clear. This is one of the finest examples of these unusual revolver around. Very few of these pistols are this exceptional, and most show signs of spending time in pockets and purses unlike this example.
