These pistol exhibit very fine quality and style of the 16th century Brescian wheel lock pistols. They are pictured in "European Hand Firearms of the 16th, 17th & 18th Century" by Herbert Jackson as Fig. 19 and discussed on page 8. The underside of the locks have round stamps with “DB” over a symbol that appears to be a coronet with three pearls (used as the coronet for Viscounts in multiple parts of Europe). Jackson notes that this pair is assumed to have been manufactured by Domenico Bonomino of Brescia (circa 1635-1700). They have unsigned tapering fluted octagonal barrels, flat lock plates, carved walnut stocks with decorations, trigger guards and buttcaps of pierced decorated iron, decorative iron plates at barrel tangs, and fluted extended belt hooks.

Fine. Metal surfaces show general cleaning and surface scratches. The stock is fine, showing overall minor pressure dents and minor gaps at metal fit. Overall a very attractive pair of pistols.
