Developed in the 1880s, Marius Berger's repeating pistol shares features with the Volcanic lever action pistol as well as the Remington-Rider Magazine Pistol, while also showing similarities to the Remington Rolling Block and European military revolvers of the mid to late 19th century. Loading is accomplished via an under-barrel magazine tube, with a rotating plunger housing which doubles as a full-length loading gate, opening up the entire side for inserting cartridges. The left side plate is hinged and swings open to reveal the internals, with an elevator assembly and breechblock similar to the Rider, and a hammer which interlocks with the breechblock on discharge for increased stability like the Rolling Block. A long ring trigger operates the whole mechanism. Fitted with a tall German silver blade front sight and a hammer notch rear sight, with a St. Etienne proof stamp on top of the barrel, Berger's patent mark and serial number on the front of the casehardened frame, niter blue small parts and a pair of smooth grips.

Very fine, with 85% plus original brown and casehardened finish, showing some light wear on the sides of the barrel, mild spotting on the magazine, and vivid colors on the sides and top of the receiver. The grips are fine, with mild dents. Mechanically fine.
