Description:

This is an exceptional example of a DWM Model 1900 "American Eagle" Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic pistol. These pistols were the true first commercial contract Luger pistols produced by DWM and can be found in the 2000-19000 serial number range; this specific pistol falls mid-range in the production cycle. They were intended for U.S. sales, hence the "American Eagle" symbol over the chamber area. It has the standard, DWM logo on the front toggle. This pistol has all the early desirable Luger features such as: dished toggles with the right side toggle lock, recessed breechblock, 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel, grip safety, and no stock lug. It is correctly serial numbered in the commercial fashion with the serial number under the barrel and on the front of the frame, which is also marked "GERMANY". The pistol is fitted with checkered walnut grips, both correctly numbered "384" on the back sides. It comes with an original, tin plated magazine with an unmarked wooden base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% of the blue finish overall, edge and high spot wear, blue loss on the side plate hump and front frame rails, and browning on the rear grip straps. The smaller parts retain 95% of their straw colors. The grips are in very fine condition with nice, distinct checkering, a couple very minor handling marks, and heavy oil soaking. Mechanically excellent. Still a very nice looking early DWM Model 1900 American Eagle Luger.
