Manufactured circa 1943. Hooded ramp beaded blade front sight, the rear sight slot has a filler block and there is a bolt mounted peep sight, (standard from the factory on .219 Zipper chambered rifles). The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two-line address/proof steel, trademark, model and caliber legend with the Winchester oval proof on the top of the barrel and receiver at the breech. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. All blue finish, 2/3 length magazine tube and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered steel buttplate. Includes a copy of an article about the .219 Zipper cartridge by Chuck Mack.
Excellent with 97% plus original blue finish. Displaying mostly light handling marks, and a few small surface scratches on the sides of the receiver. The wood is very fine with light handling marks, scattered small dings, and two small holes just rear of the grip where it appears some type of tag was attached. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Robert M. Lee Collection.
