Only 2% of the known engraved revolvers manufactured by 1986 were in this configuration per Wilkerson's "The Post-War Colt Single-Action Revolver, 1976-1986." This pair dates to late 1985 and has been beautifully engraved with 3/4 coverage (type "C") Nimschke style scrollwork and punch-dot engraving by the Colt Custom Gun Shop. The revolvers have the standard barrel and frame markings and standard Single Action Army sights. The blind screw hole grips are checkered, numbered to the guns, and are also marked "$90" and "CS 3709." The latter is the same Custom Shop order number marked on the end label of the included matching shipping cartons. The serial numbers are consecutive and match throughout. The loading gates are not marked with assembly numbers. The pair comes in a hardwood case with French fit interior and wine lining. The shipping sleeve labels match the guns and confirm the revolvers were in this configuration when they left the factory. The blue boxes contain original factory documents, including manuals.
