Designed by George H. Fox and manufactured from 1870 through 1884 with a unique sliding breech action. The action moves to the right when the upper tang mounted release is pushed up. The Damascus double barrels have 2 9/16 inch chambers, open chokes, and a single extractor. The receiver is casehardened with "A.M. ARMS Co./BOSTON" stamped on the lock plates and simple line border engraving. Mounted on a checkered splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock fitted with a smooth steel buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .748/.747 inches; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .066 inches; drop at comb 2 1/8 inches; drop at heel 3 1/8 inches; length of pull 13 3/4 inches.
