Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1852 and has the Third Model small, round trigger guard. It has a post front sight and "-ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY-" on the barrel, standard cylinder markings and roll scene, and the small "COLTS/PATENT" marking on the left side of the frame. The serial numbers match aside from the replaced wedge and the faded marking on the grip (appears original). Many of these pre-war Model 1851 Navy revolvers were carried by Confederate soldiers during the Civil War.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The revolver has a dark brown patina on the iron over traces of original finish and aged patina and small patches of darkened, original silver plating on the grip frame. The revarnished grip is fair with small scrapes and minor dings. It is mechanically fine and has crisp markings.
