Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1861 and is one of 127,156 acquired by the Union for use during the Civil War. It has a German silver front sight, one-line barrel address, Colt patent marking on the frame, all matching serial numbers, "HH" by the wedge on the left and on the cylinder, "T" on the grip straps, "E" on the cylinder, three screw frame cut for a shoulder stock (not included), and a script letter cartouche on each side of the grip ("JSD" on the left and "JT" on the right).

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver has a smooth dark brown patina with traces of original blue finish in the protected areas and flashes of original case colors on the frame. Most of the cylinder scene remains. The trigger guard has an overall smooth patina. The grip is fine with a couple very small chips missing near the bottom, high edge wear and some minor handling marks. The cartouches are both lightly legible. The action needs work as the hammer will release from the half cock position when trigger is pulled. This is a solid representative example of a Civil War U.S. Colt Model 1860 Army revolver!
