Manufactured in 1903. The barrel is marked with the two-line Hartford address on top and "COLT. D.A. 38" on the left side. The left side of the frame has the three-line patent dates marking followed by a circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is stamped on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The right grip panel is numbered to the gun ("370"), and the left grip panel has the number "37" (likely the "0" was left off at the factory). Nickel plated and niter blue hammer sides, trigger, cylinder pin, cylinder pin catch and screw heads. Fitted with checkered Rampant Colt embossed bird head grips. The Colt factory box is correct for a Model 1877 Lightning revolver. The top of the box has the illustrated label.

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus original nickel finish showing some very scattered minor flaking. The screw heads, hammer and trigger retain 80% or more bright original niter blue finish. The grips are very fine with some high edge wear and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with stains (mostly on the inside), repaired corners and most of the label remaining.
