An improvement of the Model 1899 designed as a concealable pistol for the civilian market, built around a straight blowback action. Blade front and notch rear sights, with "crown/crown/U" proofs on the barrel and receiver, a set of viewing ports on either side of the magazine well, and "PAT." on the left side of the receiver. The underside of the magazine is marked with the Bergmann "gnome" logo, and instead of the typical front catch on the magazine well this Simplex is fitted with a side mounted push button catch. Fitted with a one piece wrap-around "Simplex" grip.

Fine with 60% of the faded original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edges, and scattered spotting and handling marks. The magazine is notched for a front catch, with no notching for the side catch. Grips are very good, with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
