Scarce Japanese "Baby Nambu" Semi-Automatic Pistol with Matching Magazine

A scarce example of the very desirable "Baby Nambu" pistol with matching magazine manufactured by the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal in Koishikawa, Tokyo. These rare pistols have a high quality rust blue finish with a bright polished "in the white" bolt with the straw colored trigger, magazine release, sear pivot pin and bolt lock. The magazine has a nickel-plated tube and aluminum base. The grips are finely checkered hardwood. The chamber bears the four intertwined cannon balls symbol for the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal with the three Japanese Kanji markings and the left side of the receiver that identify the model above the serial number "3596". The serial number is also visible on the underside of the bolt, the cocking knob, striker and the back side of the right grip and on the magazine with an unnumbered firing pin. Approximately 6,500 examples of the finely finished compact "Baby" Nambu pistol were manufactured before production ceased in 1927. The "Baby" Nambu is the most scarce and desirable Japanese semi-automatic pistol.

ConditionExcellent with 97% plus of the blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear with a hint of minor oxidation/spotting on the rear grip strap. The grips are in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering with only minor handling marks. The smaller parts retain 75% of their straw colors overall. This is a really nice high condition Baby Nambu pistol.
