Description:

Measuring 36 1/2 inches overall, with a 25 3/4 inch blade showing a wavy hamon fitted into a silver finished copper habaki, military pattern brass tsuba and standard hilt fittings. With a brown painted saya. The tang is extensively marked, with a 5-pointed Army star, 3-symbol signature and "65" on the left side, and an 8-symbol signature on the right. A 5-symbol signature is present on the left side of the tang near a small "Showa" stamp. The markings are consignor attributed to the smith "Kitugayoshi", circa 1943.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blade shows some light handling marks and a few tiny edge nicks, with a strong hamon and fine grain. The fittings show some mild wear, with a few stains on the wrap and a small area of absent rayskin near the retention catch. A brown and gray patina is present on the tang.
