The top of the barrel is signed "J Auguste Petry a Liege." The unique barrel has octagon sections at the muzzle and breech, and the center is round. The barrel also has "LG" and a "crown/V" proof. The cylinder has a Liege proof. A wide floral scroll engraved motif is featured on the frame, hammer and grip straps. The cylinder has a dog chasing a fox engraved scene. Matching number on the barrel, frame and trigger guard. The number "12" appears on the butt, and the number "5" appears on the loading lever and plunger.

Very good. The revolver has a mix of smooth dull gray and bright gray patinas with the loading lever and hammer retaining flashes of original case colors. The grip is fine with a small chip missing near the bottom (left) and a couple areas of missing wood around the grip straps, some minor handling marks and most of the finish. A collector's number in vinyl is on the butt. The action is functions fine but is very stiff.
