Factory Engraved Colt Open Top Pocket Revolver

The Open Top Pocket is one of the first two Colt revolvers manufactured specifically for metallic cartridges. This very early Type 4 was manufactured in 1874 and has factory leaf and geometric engraving patterns and standard markings, including matching serial numbers.

ConditionFine with 70% plus of the original nickel plating and mild pitting on the barrel and cylinder, traces of original finish on the frame and small parts, and aged patina on the exposed bronze. The frame has a replacement side plate screw, a small crack at the breech, and some loose pins. The hammer is also cracked on the bottom inside of the frame and does not lock up properly. The grips are fine and have moderate edge wear and a minor hairline crack on the top of the left panel.
