Outstanding Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine

This is an excellent example of a Winchester Model 1895 carbine that was manufactured in 1921. The top of the receiver is stamped with the Winchester oval "W/P" proofmark above the caliber designation "30/ARMY". The left side of the receiver is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN. CONN." above the 1895-1907 patent dates. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1895/-WINCHESTER-/TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF & FGN." The serial number and "B" are stamped across the lower tang behind the trigger. Features the military style forearm with grasping grooves, military type handguard and folding leaf rear sight graduated to "18" on the ladder and up to "10" on the base side. A stud mounted saddle ring is located on the left side of the receiver. The carbine style buttplate has a sliding steel trapdoor, and the butt-trap contains the military style bore brush and thong. Blue finish, blade front sight and mounted with a straight grain American walnut forearm, hand guard and straight grip stock with a military style oil finish. The John M. Browning designed Model 1895 Winchester rifles and carbines featured non-detachable box magazines and were capable of handling high power smokeless powder cartridges. Comes with the original hanging tag.

ConditionExcellent plus, near new. The carbine retains 99% plus original blue finish with finish loss limited to the upper forward portion of the lever from normal cycling of the action. There is a minor dent on the right rear of the receiver and overall only light handling/storage marks. The wood is also excellent plus with only a few very minor dings and light handling/storage marks. The markings are sharp. The action is excellent.
