This revolver has a folding trigger that slightly revolves the cylinder with each pull allowing the hammer to strike the upper and inner ring of chambers. The barrel has a dovetailed sight base with a small bead. A small "AS" mark is on the right side of the barrel lug at the bottom. The opposite side across joint of the barrel lug and the left side of the frame has a "E. LEFAUCHEUX/INUR BREVETE" stamp, and "JS WHYTE" is on the left side behind the cylinder and below the hammer. Interestingly, the underside of the grips have broad arrow marks suggesting ownership by the British government.
Very fine. 85% plus of the period applied nickel plating remains. The nickel has some heat distortion on the cylinder. There is some oxidation and dark brown patina where the finish has flaked. The grips are very good and have crisp checkering and minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically fine, and the markings are crisp.
