Manufactured by Prosper Polain of Liege (circa 1860-70). The left barrel flat is marked "P. POLAIN/BREVETE." A Liege "ELG" proof is stamped on the right barrel flat. The rear face of the 6-shot cylinder is marked with a "crown/double letter proof" and "FD." A lanyard ring is mounted on the butt. The serial number is marked on the barrel, cylinder and frame.

Good. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish with the balance a mottled brown-gray patina. There is are extensive areas of light pitting overall. The grips are fair with a number of moderate pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
