The pistol has the standard two-line, two-block patent and address markings followed by the Rampant Colt and British crossed pennant markings behind the cocking serrations on the left side of the slide. The right side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 455". The right side of the frame has the standard "GOVERNMENT MODEL" marking over the serial number with the distinctive "W" prefix found on British guns chambered for the .455 Webley Auto cartridge. The left side of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proof and "y" inspectors mark. The underside of the frame just above the trigger guard is stamped with a small "J,J" marking, and the left rear of the frame is stamped with a small "crown/V" view mark. The replacement 45 ACP barrel is marked "P" on the bottom. Fitted with double diamond pattern checkered grips.
