Manufactured in 1942. U.S. inspected Commando revolvers were issued to state militia forces, security teams at war-essential industrial centers, and similar "home front" applications. Fixed sights, the two-line Hartford address is on top of the barrel, and "COLT COMMANDO/38 SPECIAL" is on the left side of the barrel. The "VP" Colt proof and the letter "M" are on the left side of the trigger guard, and a flaming ordnance bomb is above the cylinder release. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips with inset silver Colt medallions. Includes a brown cardboard craft box hand numbered to the gun and papers.
