The left side of the frame is script marked "Verney Carron Liege," which is repeated on top of the right barrel. The left barrel is marked "475 No. 2 NITRO EXPRESS CORDITE-85 GRAINS 480 GRAINS." The barrel flats and water table are proofed, and Liege proofs are found on the barrels which are importer marked. Matching numbers on receiver, barrels and forearm. Equipped with a low blade front sight on ramp, three leaf rear sight (two folding, one fixed) on a quarter rib, double triggers and manually safety. Mounted on a checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with cheekpiece and solid Work Case Reacting Gun recoil pad. The underside of the buttstock has a silver oval engraved with a crest, and there is an unidentified marking stamped behind the pistol grip. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Very good as refinished. The rifle retains 60% of the blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. There is some very scattered minor pitting. The receiver has a smooth gray patina. The wood is very fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches and some blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
