Beaded blade front and two leaf (one standing, one folding) rear notch sights on the solid matte rib marked "HEINRICH SCHERPING. HANOVER JHN. H. ECKEBRECHT. HOFBUSCHENMACHER". The receiver features fine floral and scroll engraving and claw style scope bases. Fitted with a standard Mauser style wing safety and double set triggers. Mounted on a checkered semi-pistol grip stock with contrasting wood forend and grip caps, sling swivels, and a checkered horn buttplate.

Good with 75% of the aging blue finish, small nicks and dings, scattered spotting, and slightly light rib markings. The receiver has a mostly dark gray patina with spotting and edge wear. The period refreshed wood is good with small dings, crisp checkering, grain cracks on the right side of the buttstock, and uneven varnish. Mechanically excellent.
