Factory records for this model from 1949 to 1963 are not available, but the Model 61 Magnum was only manufactured from 1960 to 1963 after the .22 Win. Mag. was developed in 1959. This rifle is fitted with highly figured, deluxe checkered walnut. The hang tag has a "SPECIAL/DELUXE" stamp over the "61" and a "SELECT WOOD" stamp at an angle below. The matching box has the same stamped markings and contains a manual and warranty card. The rifle has standard markings and sights, a jeweled breech, select grade walnut forearm and buttstock with diamond checkering patterns on the forearm and multi-point checkering on the buttstock, a "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS" grip cap, and a checkered plastic buttplate with a factory logo near the center.
