This beautiful custom rifle features a Mauser 98 action and a J.P. Sauer & Sohn barrel. The action, breech end of the barrel, trigger guard, floor plate and attaching iron are very nicely engraved with a fine English scroll design. The barrel is fitted with a ramped blade front sight and a three leaf (two folding, one fixed) rear sight with "100", "200" and "300" yard markings on the solid matte rib, The upper right rear barrel flat is marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL", the upper left rear flat is marked ""FRIED. KRUPP, intertwined circles logo over NIROSTA A.G. ESSEN" and the top of the rib is marked "88/8. S." in an oval panel. The left side of the action is marked with a "crown/B" and "crown/U" proof mark over the serial number and the left side receiver wall is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER - OBERNDORF A/N". Blue finish, jeweled bolt and extractor with case colored bolt handle, double set triggers and mounted with a one piece pistol grip stock with fine checkering and floral carving, horn grip cap and checkered horn buttplate. Equipped with a Zeiss scope with leather lens caps. Also comes with an unmarked brown leather scope case with shoulder strap.
