This 1867-1880s rifle has beautiful Germanic leaf engraving on most of the components and a plain barrel other than the bands near the breech. The lock has "A. LEGLER IN NEUSTADTL" in a banner at the front. The rifle is equipped with a winged post front sight, adjustable leaf rear sight, slot for a tang peep sight, double set triggers, and a one-piece checkered stock with modified German style cheekpiece.

Rating Definition:

Fine with mottled gray and brown patina, light pitting, subtle case colors visible on the breech and lock, and scattered minor marks. The stock is very good with the exception of the piece absent between the breech and nose of the lock. The checkering remains crisp with minor marks, and the remainder of the stock has several scattered minor dings and scratches. The lock and set triggers are mechanically excellent.
