Description:

Offered here is a machine gun tripod mount for the Colt Browning Model 1914. The Model 1914 was a variation of the Model 1895, Browning's first production belt fed machine gun nicknamed the potato digger, with the key difference being the detachable barrel featuring multiple radial fins. The Model 1914 was chambered in various calibers including .30-06, .303 British and 7.62x54R and was shipped to British and Imperial Russian Allied forces during World War I. After the war some Model 1914s saw action in the Russian Civil War, and second line Italian forces were still being issued the firearm at the beginning of World War II. The rate of fire was approximately 400 rounds per minute. The machine gun was also manufactured by Marlin.

Rating Definition:

Good. The mount has a smooth dark patina overall with some surface rust. The adjustable elevation mechanism is operational.
