Description:

Utilized frequently by Fallschirjaeger formations. Constructed from deep blue/black canvas with leather flap tabs and tan canvas fittings, this pouch is configured to carry eighteen flares. The exterior is unmarked, with the inside of the flap bearing a faded "1942" marker's mark and a rectangular "Nazi eagle" stamp. The flare loops are arranged in three rows of six, with a hardwood spacer in the bottom and a lightly canvas pouch with strap. The belt loops are detachable, secured with a pair of metal eyes and fitted with "LUX" stamped metal tips, and the shoulder strap (possibly a replacement) is fitted to a pair of D-rings on the sides with quick-release aluminum clips. Similar example pictured and described in the book "Afrika Korps" by Kurtz.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with light wear and handling marks overall. The sides of the flap and interior of the pouch show mild staining, and all of the straps, hinges and stitching look and feel solid.
