Description:

This is a desirable 1936 manufactured Luftwaffe contract Krieghoff Luger. The Krieghoff Luger was the only Luger pistol officially contracted for the Luftwaffe throughout WWII. The front toggle is marked with the C-1 die marking. The right side of the barrel extension has the Luftwaffe/Krieghoff "Eagle/2" and "Eagle" acceptance and firing proofmarks. The underside of the barrel has the bore diameter and smaller "Eagle/2" firing proof over the serial number. The side of the breechblock and toggle assembly are proofed with the Luftwaffe "Eagle" acceptance proofs. Includes two wartime magazines: one a nickel plated magazine with an aluminum base stamped "7081/Eagle 2" and the other a blued "fxo" marked magazine also with an aluminum base that has been ground off and renumbered "2". It is also accompanied with a correct Luftwaffe proofed takedown tool and a very nice black leather holster that has been deeply restamped with an "Eagle/2" proof inside the back.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original blue finish and minor high spot wear on the side plate hump and lower edges of the grip straps. The smaller parts retain 70% of their original straw colors overall with slightly more in the protected areas. The grips are very fine with nice checkering overall. The reproduction holster is very fine. It has matching numbers except the magazine as noted, and the third digit in the serial number (the 7) has been factory overstamped with a number "4".
