Manufactured in 1935, Colt only produced 5,000 of these specially fit and finished target grade pistols. The right side of the matching numbered slide is marked "SUPER MATCH / COLT SUPER 38 / AUTOMATIC" followed by the Rampant Colt motif. The opposite side of the slide has Colt's address above 1897-1913 patent dates in two lines. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with an "X" over the triangle "VP", and the right side is marked "99". Fixed low profile sights, blue barrel with polished chamber, checkered slide hold back, thumb safety, magazine release, hammer and arched mainspring housing, and two tone magazine marked "COLT SUPER/38 AUTO" on the bottom. Blade front and adjustable rear target sights and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent. The pistol retains 90% plus original blue finish with some wear on the muzzle end and lower left front of the slide, a few scratches, some minor spotting on the top of the slide and on the grip safety and some thinning to gray patina on the front strap. The grips are also excellent with a couple minor dings and dents on the bottom of the left panel, some minor wear on the lower edge of the right panel and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
