Manufactured in 1913. This example features the early high polished blue finish with a short slide cut, early fully blued barrel, two-line Hartford address and patent markings on the right side of the slide, Rampant Colt on a partial globe behind the serrations, Colt "VP" proof on the left trigger guard bow and the second style caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The trigger and grip safety are casehardened, and there is niter blue on the grip screw and magazine retaining clip at the heel. Fitted with round top, checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt superimposed over a stylized "C" and "COLT" molded at the tops. Includes an un-numbered brown Colt box with a blue and black end label and papers.

Very fine overall with 90% plus original blue finish, areas of light edge wear, clear markings, surface scratches, minor nicks and dings, light cycling marks on the barrel and general handling marks. The grips are excellent with well-defined checkering, clear markings and light general handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with edge and corner wear and weakening of the "hinge" area.
